I grew up across the street from Kurt’s mother on Key Biscayne. One time I had something published in the local newspaper, The Islander News (probably when I was 12-13). She wrote a letter to me (that I wish I still had!) telling me how nice it was to read it, etc. I can see where Kurt got some of his influence/motivation from.

We’d always heard that his family owned the Rathskeller in Indianapolis. Great place to eat, and I always thought of him when we went there.
