Jack’s Newspaper Clipping

TV Squad the low-down fans figuring out what the text was on Jack’s newspaper clipping in the season finale of LOST:

Text of the newspaper clipping:

“The body of John Lantham of New York was found shortly after 4 a.m. in the 4300 block of Grand Avenue.

Ted Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud
noises coming from the victim’s loft. Concerned for the tenants’
safety, he entered the loft and found the body hanging from a beam in
the living room.

According to Jaime Ortiz, a police spokesman, the incident was
deemed a suicide after medical tests. Lantham (sic) is survived by one
teenaged son.

Memorial services will be held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow evening.”

  1. Could it be Locke? Maybe it’s a far chance, but the same initials, and he could have taken Locke on like Sawyer took on his name.
Or Michael…Walt would be around a teenager’s age, give or take.
And aren’t Rose and Bernard from New York too?

Or I could be completely wrong and it would be a brand new character. = )

  2. Not Michael, his last name is Dawson. And Rose and Bernard’s name is Nadler. And not John because he is not from New York.

Karl’s father perhaps? He is about 16.

Although as Jack refers to all the lies or lying after getting back, it is possible that some or all of them may be living under assumed names and identities.

What does merit question, to me, is why is an apparent suicide newsworthy in Los Angeles–and how well known is this John latham is no other explanation is given? And if this guy can afford to live in a building with residential lofts in downtown L.A. why is the viewing at less than chic neighborhood?

  3. Kate’s ‘ why would I go ‘ reply leads me to believe that if not Michael, it is someone not yet introduced.
Loved that the funeral home’s name =acronym for ‘ Flash Forward’.
What I really want to know is if Sawyer is the he as in ‘he’ll know I’m gone ‘.
