Gordon Ramsey’s New Show This Fall: Kitchen Nightmares

If you’ve seen Hell’s Kitchen on Fox, you probably already have an opinion about Chef Gordon Ramsey.      And if you’ve only seen him on that show, you might have a low opinion of him because of the way he rants and raves on that show.

Well, there’s a new show coming this Fall, and Gordon’s back.   The show is:  Kitchen Nightmares.   You might think of skipping that show just because of Gordon Ramsey.

That would be a mistake.

If the show is anything the British version of the show, Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares, you’re going to see a completely different version of Gordon Ramsey.    If you have a satellite dish and subscribe to BBC America, you can see what I’m talking about.   Ramsey has help quite a few kitchens come back from the brink, and he’s very helpful and sympathetic.  He does a lot of things to help the restaurants out of whatever rut they’re in.

Typical problems are: a menu that’s WAY too big; owners that are losing money and who raise prices to try and compensate; chefs that try and to make dishes that are much too fancy for their skills.

I really enjoy the British version of the show, and I’m looking forward to the American version.   It’s going to air on Thursday nights, 9pm Eastern.

  1. Steve,
I’ve been reading you all year with your critiques on “24” – and no matter what the plot-line or dialog – just love your re-cap and look forward to it every Tuesday morning at your site.

Lots of people I care about are involved in the hospitality/restaurant biz – so thanks a bunch for the info on the new show.
