Tonight was the Series Premiere of “Chuck”. The premise of the show is that a computer guy named Chuck that is part of a team at the “Nerd Herd” receives government secrets from an ex-roommate, right before the roommate dies. How many government secrets? All of them.<\/p>\n
Chuck has this accidentally downloaded into his brain when he opens an e-mail attachment (now, aren’t you glad you don’t ever do that?) Anyway, now that the government computer is destroyed and the computer Chuck was using was destroyed, he’s the only copy of those secrets. Agents are after him, one keeping him safe, the other wanting Chuck for his own agency (this is CIA vs. NSA we’re talking here).<\/p>\n
So, how did the show hold up? Pretty well. I liked the characters, and it was a pretty good first show. Only real nitpick I have is that Chuck said something about “programming a TRS-80” when he was at Stanford. Bzzzz! Wrong answer. In that time frame, it would have been a PC. The TRS-80 was popular in the late 70s to early 80s. I don’t Chuck would have even alive then. Get some more computer folks on the writing staff, and yes, I’m volunteering. <\/p>\n
I’m not sure how they’re going to be able to keep the premise up of Chuck walking around with government secrets, because it would seem that over time those secrets would be less useful… but we’ll see.<\/p>\n
Verdict: This is a show to keep watching. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
