Lost: Stranger in a Strange Land

I’m not sure what to think about tonight’s episode. The three “mysteries”, what happened to the people that were “taken”, what Jack’s tattoo’s mean, and ….well, I’m not even sure what the third mystery was supposed to be.

Anyway, just a few random thoughts: I thought it was interesting that both Jack and Juliet ended up being “marked”. I haven’t figured out what the symbol on Juliet means yet. If anyone has a link to the mark, or better yet, what it means, please post it in the comments.

“He walks among us, but he is not one of us” was an interesting message. The question is, was Jack’s girlfriend in Thailand someone that did those tattoos as some sort of punishment? Did she object because it was something only Thai’s (or perhaps someone in her religion?) were supposed to have?
Once marked, did he become an outcast because of what he did, or because of what it said?

So many questions….

  1. Don’t you think that The Scarlet Letter would have not been such a big impact if the person wearing it could keep it hidden under clothes?

I mean, what’s the point of marking her on her back, just above her butt? I mean, are they a bunch of monkeys that go lifting the back of each other’s shirts to check for marks (or tasty insects!) all the time?

Just weird. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

I can’t wait for the Hurley-Dharma Bus next week!
