Steve’s 24 Season Five Summaries

by Steve Pietrowicz

Yes, I’m “that Steve“.

I’m the “Steve” that contributes (along with a lot of other folks) to Dave Barry’s blog every Monday Night on the “24” thread. Near the beginning of the season, Dave asked if we could provide a summary of that night’s episode because he wasn’t going to be able to watch it. I wrote up a summary of the show, and a number of people thought it was pretty funny, so I kept writing the summaries until the end of the season.

I wrote all of these summaries while I was watching the show with the help of my handy dandy DVR. ….Well, that’s not entirely true. I wrote nearly all of them with the help of my DVR. During the season, we had satellite dish malfunction, and I had to write the whole thing “live”, without the benefit of stopping the show and writing. Writing up a show usually takes me between 10 and 40 minutes more time than the show runs.

I posted these immediately after writing them, so excuse the grammar and spelling mistakes; I’ll correct those here as I find them.

I didn’t start writing these until episode 4 last year. I wrote summaries 1-3 after Season 5 was over, which is why you might see a change in style from episode 3 and 4.

Here are my summaries for Season Five:

7 am to 8 am
8 am to 9 am
9 am to 10 am
10 am to 11 am
11 am to 12 pm
12 pm to 1 pm
1 pm to 2 pm
2 pm to 3 pm
3 pm to 4 pm – short version
4 pm to 5 pm
5 pm to 6 pm
6 pm to 7 pm
7 pm to 8 pm
8 pm to 9 pm
9 pm to 10 pm
10 pm to 11 pm
11 pm to 12 am
12 am to 1 am
1 am to 2 am
2 am to 3 am
3 am to 4 am
4 am to 5 am
5 am to 6 am
6 am to 7 am

After the season finale, Dave posted another thread about what might be happening on “24” AFTER the show was over, and of course everyone contributed to that too. I wrote up a completely different summary of the show, trying to keep the same style of humor that I used in the summaries.
