Guess Who’s Coming Back to LOST?

Lost Logo
…SPOILERS AHEAD…

Guess who’s coming back to LOST? Cynthia’ Watros will be come back in her role as Libby in multiple episodes! Right now people are thinking that means she’ll be in flashback episodes. After last year’s finale, it could be a flash-forward. For all we know she could come back as a zombie.

Man, I hope not.

Anyway, it’ll be good to see how her whole story fits into the grand scheme of things. I suspect that Libby was a lot more sinister than we’ve been lead to expect so far.

LOST Producers Talk About the Five New Actors Joining in Season 4

New Lost Actors for Season 4
EW.com comes through again with a short interview with Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse in which they discuss the five new actors joining LOST next season.

The producers talk about how they went about casting the new characters for the show, while not giving too much away while they were trying to find them. They don’t reveal who is going to be doing what on the show, but with character types such as “ruthless corporate recruiter”, let the speculation begin!

The interview was pretty surprising; I had no idea that Jeff Fahey at set up an orphanage in Afghanistan.

…and is it just me, or does Rebecca Mader look REALLY spooky in that picture?

Jeff Fahey Joins The LOST Cast

Jeff Fahey
Jeff Fahey, perhaps most famous for his roles in Lawnmower Man and Grindhouse, is joining the cast of LOST for season 4.

Here are some more of the people who are joining for season 4 of LOST: Jeremy Davies (Saving Private Ryan), Lance Reddick (The Wire), Ken Leung (The Sopranos), and British actress Rebecca Mader (The Devil Wears Prada, Love Monkey).

Any thoughts on what all these people are going to be doing? Off hand, I’d say most (if not all) are going to going to arrive on the island from that boat that’s floating around out there….

Doc Jensen investigates LOST rumors

Over at Doc Jensen’s blog on EW.com, he’s working on looking at what’s behind the LOST rumors that are going around these days, including:

  • Is Lost moving to 9pm on Friday
  • Has Peter Stormane (he played Abruzzi on Prison Break) been offered a role on LOST?
  • What about Forest Whitaker? Is he joining LOST?

Want the answers? Better head over there, he did the hard work. I’m just gonna point you at it.

Season 4 Sneak Peek: Orientation Film For The Orchid

LOST SPOILERS AHEAD

I was finally able to find a copy of “The Orchid” orientation film that was shown at Comic Con, and I have to say that previous reports on what was in this video didn’t do what was actually happening justice.

Watch for yourself in this embedded video:

From what happened in this film, I think it’s pretty clear they’re trying to screw around with time in some way. “Edgar Halowax” (who we know was calling himself “Marvin Candle” in one of the other films) is REALLY freaked out about seeing that rabbit with the number 15 on it. He said that the two rabbits shouldn’t get near each other… Why would that be? Could there be some kind of paradox of two things from a time shift meeting each other? What would happen?

Another thing I noticed was this frame in the middle of the video:

Subliminal messages? What? Would the Dharma people do that? Nah…….

Update: More subliminal pictures

Here’s another… (Sure looks like Gerald DeGroot to me):

and another (the Hanso building?):

and one more (the Others compound?):

Comic Con: Lost Season 4 Spoilers & Analysis

Buddy TV and TVSquad are reporting on last night’s Comic Con with info on Lost Season 4:

SPOILERS AHEAD! Don’t read this if you don’t want to know!

Here are a few things that we were told by Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, the executive producers of LOST:

1) Michael will be back as a regular cast member in Season 4; it had been planned all along, and that “year off” for season 3 was planned. Harold Perrineau, the actor that plays Michael appeared on stage with Cuse and Lindelof.

2) It was strongly hinted (lots of head nodding) that Jack and Claire would find out they were brother and sister.

3) We’ll see more of Libby in a flashback, and a her possible ties to Dharma.

4) We’re going to find out definitively what the smoke monster really is at some point. Maybe not in Season 4, but definitely before the show is over.

5) Rousseau’s story will be told in a flashback in season 4 or 5, but things haven’t synced up correctly for her story yet.

6) Ben was NOT trying to get caught when Rousseau caught him in a trap. He was headed to the other side of the island.

7) The actor who played Tom, (“Mr. Friendly”…you know…the guy with the fake beard) M.C. Gainey, revealed that The Others might have looked bad, but what’s coming will be worse.

8) A movie was played showing Dr. Candle giving an orientation about the Orchid Station. He was holding a rabbit with the number 15 on it. A second rabbit, also with the number 15 got loose. He referred to something about the island’s “Casimir effect”.

9) Webisodes are coming before Season 4 premieres in February.

OK….with that out of the way, here are some of my questions about that:

1) Michael will be back, but what about Walt? In my previous theory about Walt, I said that something was going to have to happen to that actor, simply because a kid his age is going to go through some dramatic changes while he grows up. At that time, I thought that he would be part of the Dharma Initiative’s life expectancy experiments, but I think it’s pretty clear now that this has more to do with time than anything else. I say that based on the “flash forward” episode that ended last season. Are the people on the island stuck in time? Are they dramatically slowed down or sped up? Will we see this in Walt?

2) That Christian (Jack’s father) sure does get around. How are they going to find this out? Claire just mentioning it? Ben dropping the bomb?

3) Libby’s ties to Dharma – Could Charles Widmore have put Libby up to giving Desmond that boat, just to get him away from Penelope?

4) In my original theory, I thought that the smoke monster might be nanotechnology. At this point I’m not sure what it is. It’s probably something The Others let loose by accident.

5) Rousseau is extraordinarily well-armed for someone that was on a boat that got ship-wrecked. Do you remember Naomi, that woman that they found in the jungle last season? The one that had the radio?

I think Rousseau might be part of the same group of people as Naomi is a part of.

6) Where Ben was headed…. no idea.

7) I think that specifically refers to the people on the boat. They’re military, and it will probably force some sort of unsteady alliance between the survivors of the crash and The Others.

8) I have to think about the Casimir effect some more.

9) I’ll post links to any webisodes (and that Candle movie) when they become available.

LOST Hints Coming at ComicCon in July

Just a couple of quick things…

Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse will be dropping some big hints about the future of LOST at Comic Con in Las Vegas next month.

Also, according to rumors, we’ll find out more about Libby and what the heck that four-toed statue is during Season 4.

Update: Tropichunt.com Guy correctly points out that, Comic Con is in San Diego, not Las Vegas. Thanks!
