The role of “Caesar”, in the upcoming season of LOST, has been cast. The actor Saïd Taghmaoui received the role after impressing the producers.
“He has an innate intelligence, intensity, and danger we really responded to,” says Lindelof, who declined to specify whether Caesar is good or bad. However, Cuse teases that the character will be playing “an important part of the setup for the final act of the show in season 6.”

Spoilers ahead
I just got done watching Fringe, and I have to say that I liked it. There’s some potential here. I do find several things interesting, and they parallel the show LOST to some extent.
The first, and most obvious: A plane figured prominently in both series premieres.
The second, there’s a conspiracy. That was also a pretty obvious one.
The third, there seems to be a bit of “some bad things started a long time ago, and we’re going to try and correct it” parallel too. In LOST, it’s Dharma and the experiments. In Fringe, it’s the work that Walter Bishop did and the Massive Dynamic is working on.
I was surprised when I first found out that Lance Reddick (who plays Broyles) was on the show. If he looks familiar, and he should if you’re a LOST fan, he plays Matthew Abbaddon.
As for tonight’s show:
When Olivia first left the motel room, and Agent Scott got his phone call, I thought for a split second that he was in on some bigger plot that she wasn’t aware of. When he answered the phone the way he did, I quickly dismissed it. I was surprised as everyone else probably was when things turned out the way they did for him.
Looks like the Bishops and Olivia are going to be a team. Not bad. Oh, and that assistant of Olivia’s… Was there some reason she didn’t say thing when she was on screen until the first hour of the show had passed, and Olivia was in the tank? Was that weird or what? She was just there, not saying a thing.

A couple of observations:
Olivia meeting Walter was very reminiscent of “Silence of the Lambs”, that sensory deprivation tank was straight out of “Altered States”, and the dream thing reminded me of Harry Potter’s pensive.
That “Zeno” on the kayak… did that mean something?
Did you know there’s a Massive Dynamic website?
That final message from Agent Scott… “Ask yourself why Broyle sent you to the storage facility”. Well, either it was because he already knew Olivia and Agent Scott (darn it…what WAS his first name?) were involved and wanted Scott exposed, he wanted to get rid of Olivia, or as a test to see how far she would go to find out what was going on.
Nice touch with the bumpers on the show before the commercials… The leaf at the end is the “talk to dead people/brain connection” lab. Wonder what the others do?
That’s it for now. I’ll leave you to think about “The Pattern”, and feel free to post a comment below to say what you thought of tonight’s show.

I didn’t see the last few “Sarah Connor Chronicles” episodes last season, so I tuned in to see what was going on.
What I learned:
Things at 90210 were only slightly weirder than what happened tonight.
You can randomly drive a ambulance around during the day, stop various disastrous scenes, and nobody asks you to drive them anywhere, no matter what else is going on.
John Connor now has the ability to take advanced technology, clean it up a bit with a dirty rag, and fix it! That sure would come in handy.
If you take a staple gun to your face, you can close up gaping wounds without additional bleeding.
Terminators still have that creepy dragging foot thing going, even in the advanced models.
Really advanced terminators not only make really nasty CEOs, but they also decorative urinals. Makes me wonder how long she had to wait there for that guy to show up.
That’s all I can remember at the moment.
Maybe you folks learned more things. Anyone remember anything else?
Mark “The Mentalist” as a show I’m not going to watch. It’s about a guy who says he’s a mentalist, but is just really good at noticing details, giving the impression he’s got some kind of powers.
Don’t get me wrong, I like the idea…. So did other people because there’s already a show like that. It’s called “Psych“.
Come on, CBS. Come up with some original ideas.

The production of “24” will shut down for more than 2 weeks, starting Sept 15.
The reason? The executive producer isn’t happy with the direction of the last six episodes of the season. They’re going to work on rewriting the scripts, and the show should be back in production by Oct 9th.

A movie of the Dark Tower series of novels from Stephen King is in the planning stages!
Damon Lindelof is interested in doing it, but says:
“And the idea of doing that at the same time Carlton (Cuse, co-producer) and I are bringing Lost to a close is simply not viable. There are always Dark Tower conversations, but the figuring out of what this will look like as a movie has not begun.”
He added: “If The Dark Tower were in the right hands, I would love to see seven movies executed just right. But you have to get people to see the first one to get them to come and see the second one.

Just got this:
FROM: David Wallace, CFO & (Acting) Director of Dunder Mifflin Infinity
TO: All new and returning Dunder Mifflin employees
SUBJECT: Dunder Mifflin Infinity 2.0
As the Chief Financial Officer of Dunder Mifflin Inc. it’s with great pleasure, that I announce the arrival of Dunder Mifflin Infinity 2.0. After a fruitful inaugural year, we spent the summer evaluating the successes (of which there were many!) and failures of DMI (1.0). With last year’s complications (issues regarding credit card encryption, sexual predators, and fraud) now firmly behind us, we’re finally ready to move forward.
We concluded that branch productivity suffered from over-saturating the market with too many Dunder Mifflin locations. In retrospect, our rapid expansion was a bit presumptuous. Consequently, we’re closing 100 of our 200 branches and eliminating our overseas offices. The employees affected by these closures are still highly valued commodities and will be invited to transfer to one of our remaining branches. We believe that by consolidating our employee workforce, we’ll gain a competitive advantage, which will help us meet the economic challenges we now face.
Additionally, corporate is going to take a step back this year; branch managers will be granted more control and responsibility within their individual branches. Having done such an excellent job last year, we’re giving branch managers the opportunity to effectively moderate their employees and ensuring them equal hiring abilities. With this added control, comes added liability. As a result, two-thirds of our original managerial force will be replaced; the application period for new Regional Managers will begin September 4th. So if you believe you have what it takes to accept the challenges and responsibility of becoming middle management, then we urge you to apply.
With a number of reforms to DMI already in motion, we’re excited to begin all new sales initiatives, which will help enhance our brand and earn you valuable Schrute Bucks. We’ll also be enriching the ’employee rewards program,’ offering new prizes and desk enhancements. I know that with all your hard work and sacrifice, we can put the nasty headlines and corporate scandal behind us. I’m greatly looking forward to working with each and every one of you. Together, we can make the new and improved DMI 2.0 an enormous success.

Dharma Initiative Testing is continuing and Test 3 is running. This one is bit tricky. You have to click on the Dharma logo, and keep it away from spheres that are moving around in an enclosed area. Touch one of the sides, or one of the spheres, and the test ends.
So far I’ve only managed to get up to 28 seconds. How well did you do?
