When Is LOST Coming Back? January 21, 2009

People have been asking me when LOST is coming back for Season 5… I just got word (Thanks Andy!) that it’s going to premiere on January 21st, 2009… Which is a Wednesday! It’s back on Wednesdays… Thank goodness too, because at the rate I’m recording things on Thursday night I was going to have to invest in another DVR just to keep up with things.

There are going to be 17 episodes this coming season, and it’s going to kick off with a two-hour premiere! Can’t wait!

Reiko Aylesworth Joins LOST

As most of you know, the two shows I comment on the most around here are “24” and “LOST“. Apart from the 24/LOST parody episode, I never thought the two shows would cross paths… but I was wrong! No, we’re not going to have Jack galloping through the island, and the smoke monster isn’t going to be chasing Chloe around (I think… you can never tell with “24”). What we ARE going to see is Reiko Aylesworth, who played Michelle Dessler on “24”, in her new role as Amy. Amy is described as ” a smart and successful professional woman with a love for the outdoors who is looking for the right man.”

Sounds like someone who’ll be interested in both Jack and Sawyer… competition for Kate, maybe? We’ll see!

Dharma Test #7 – Black Swan Revealed

The final Dharma test is up! You don’t have to run to take it though – you’ve already taken it!

update
Here’s the official e-mail:

Namaste.

I am extremely pleased to announce that the seventh and final test in the Dharma Initiative’s Volunteer Recruitment Program is now available at www.dharmawantsyou.com.

This test plays an extremely important part in determining your final role within the Dharma Initiative’s upcoming research project.

This test is, perhaps, the most challenging recruits have yet encountered in the Volunteer Recruitment Program. A great deal is demanded of you in this final examination. It is an excellent opportunity to distinguish yourself in the eyes of assessors.

Once you have completed the seventh assessment your overall results will be collated and delivered to the Volunteer Recruit Evaluation Panel for analysis. The members of this distinguished panel will make recommendations to myself, as the Head of Recruiting, regarding the specific departmental position appropriate for each recruit. Upon my review I will formally present the recommendations to the executive board of the Dharma Initiative for final approval.

Final recruit departmental positions and results will be outlined in your personalized Volunteer Assessment Dossier, which will available for download from DharmaWantsYou.com after December 15, 2008.

Good luck to you all.

Namaste.

Here’s a transcript of the video:

Namaste.

My name is Hans Van Eeghan. Many of you will already know me. I am the Dharma Initiative’s head of recruiting as well as the architect of the aptitude tests you have been undertaking in the last few weeks. Although we are not yet half way through the planned program, I am happy to report that the progress in the general cohort is, in my studied opinion, extremely encouraging. Indeed some of the results from the first two assessments have been nothing less then stunning. It is reassuring that recruits have managed to deliver such excellent results despite numerous attempts by the so called Black Swan to undermine the testing program. You are to be commended for your discipline. Keep up the good work and avoid contact with any insights distributed by this individual.

I have reported your progress to my superiors and they are suitably encouraged. I look forward to your future efforts.

Namaste.

LOST: Dharma Test 6

Just got this:

ATTENTION ALL RECRUITS
RE: SPECIALIZED DEPARTMENTAL EVALUATION

Namaste.

I am pleased to announce the release of the sixth assessment in the Dharma Initiative’s Volunteer Recruitment Program is now available at www.dharmawantsyou.com.

This latest assessment has been specifically designed around the results of your previous examinations.

It is a multiple-choice exam and aims to determine your suitability for a number of departments within the Dharma Initiative.

Additionally, a select group of talented recruits have contributed to this examination. The outstanding efforts of these individuals stand as an example to us all.

The following recruits have been officially promoted to ‘Instructor’ status;

Bboepple, DanyWho, Ellenh, Iseibert, Lost4evr, Mattabramson, Orangemoonbeam, Sawyer78, Wrinkledogs.

Instructors will receive an official Dharma Initiative Instructor t-shirt for their efforts.

IMPORTANT: SECURITY UPDATE

Please be aware that investigations are continuing into the latest security breach discovered around the Volunteer Recruitment Program. Measures are being implemented to preserve the integrity of the program and to ascertain the identity of ‘Black Swan’. Additionally, assessment data is being analyzed in order to determine which recruits may have exploited confidential information.

Recruits found to have benefited illegally from this material will be dealt with appropriately by the Dharma Initiative’s Recruit Evaluation Panel.

In the meantime, I urge all recruits to avoid contact with the material being distributed by ‘Black Swan’. The integrity of the entire Volunteer Recruitment program is at risk.

Namaste.

LOST: Is Jin Alive?

Well, well, well… Hot on the heals of Claire’s news, there’s still no definitive answer to Jin’s fate, but TVSquad thinks that Jin might be alive still, and there are definite hints in this interview over at EW.com.

Jin might just be a ghost running around the island, but I don’t think so. Given Jin’s been around the water a lot (son of a fisherman, remember?), and that the island doesn’t get rid of people until they’ve served its purpose, it’s likely that Jin will be floating in that water at the beginning of next season.

Just think: Sun is the new Penny, and Jin is the new Desmond. Powerful women, both trying to find the fate of their men.

Write Your Own Dharma Tests

A message from Hans Van Eeghen on the Dharma Wants You site explains that recruits to the Dharma Initiative can now start writing their own tests. It involves writing 10 questions, and having other recruits complete your test for which you’ll get 50 Dharma points. You can also achieve “Instructor Status”:

If your test, or one of its questions, is of an appropriate quality it may be selected to form part of the Official Volunteer Assessment Program. For this you will receive 500 Dharma Points and be awarded Instructor status.

You have to have your test created before Sept 17th, 2008

RE: TANGENTIAL JUDGMENT ANALYSIS IS NOW LIVE

Namaste.

I am pleased to announce the release of the fourth assessment in the Dharma Initiative’s Volunteer Recruitment Program is now available at www.dharmawantsyou.com.

This new test will assess your ability to formulate imaginative solutions to a range of conundrums.

Many of you have already demonstrated your ability to think “outside the octagon”, so to speak. I am sure you will find this activity suitably stimulating.

I am also happy to report that a great number of you have enthusiastically embraced the recently released “Recruit Created Assessments” (RCA). Industrious recruits are devising for their colleagues a dizzying array of examination topics that will, no doubt, significantly expand the knowledge base of the Dharma Initiative.

These talented recruits not only stand to significantly increase their Dharma Points but will also be eligible for promotion to the position of “Instructor” in the Volunteer Recruitment Program.

On behalf of the Dharma Initiative I would like to thank these conscientious recruits for their efforts.

Keep up the good work.

Namaste.
