Kate Threatens to Quit

Fame must be tough with people hassling you all the time, but it really seems to have gotten to Evangeline Lilly (Kate from “Lost”). She’s so upset about the people the bother her, that she has threatened to quit the show.

You know, I think that celebrities probably do get hassled quite a bit, and probably more than they should. Having said that, if they’re really freaked out about this sort of thing, why did they become actors in the first place?

Lilly says that she just wants to go someplace where she won’t be recognized. Sooner or later, “Lost” will end, and her wish will come true. I’m not sure she’ll like it very much. I don’t think other actors have enjoyed it as much as they thought they would.

Lost Nominated by Writer’s Guild of America

Lost has been nominated for two awards for writing by the WGA. Other nominees include “The Simpsons”, “30 Rock”, and “Battlestar Gallactica”.

Lost was nominated for Best Drama, and will be up against “24”, “Deadwood”, “The Sopranos” and “Grey’s Anatomy”. It was also nominated for Best Drama Episode, along with “The West Wing”, “Battlestar Gallactica”, “Nightmares and Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King”, “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,” and HBO’s pilot for “Big Love.”

Frankly, I think “Studio 60″‘s nomination is really stretching it, especially for a show that came really close to getting canceled after a couple of episodes.

LOST February Preview Moment #1

Did you watch “Day Break” on ABC last night? If not, you missed a brief “LOST moment” (as ABC is calling them) preview of the next show which will air on February 7th. You can also see these on ABC.com/lost, but you need to be an American Express card holder to view them.

In the preview, we see Desmond tackle Charlie, yelling “You don’t want to know what happened to me! You don’t want to know!”

….and that’s it. Hey, I said it was brief.

Some revised theories on what that might mean in a future post.

The Real Reason Mr. Eko Is Off the Show

In an earlier posting, I pointed to an article which stated that the producers had planned Mr. Eko’s departure.

What that article didn’t say, but an article at Contact Music says that TV Guide is reporting (did you follow that?) that Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Mr. Eko) asked to be released from the show!

Apparently, it’s been a very bad year for him. Both his parents died earlier this year. He had a run-in with police for a traffic violation (the charges were dropped).

All in all, I’m still sorry he left.

Lost on hiatus for 13 weeks

If you haven’t already heard, LOST is on hiatus for 13 weeks. It’ll be back in February, so don’t be surprised when you tune in next week and see “Day Break” instead.

So, why stick around to see “Day Break”, if you’re a Lost fan? ABC will be showing scenes from the February premiere of LOST throughout the 13 weeks Day Break will be showing.

Fan reaction to “The Cost of Living”

SPOILERS AHEAD… You’ve been warned.

The producers insist that the death of Mr. Eko in “The Cost of Living” was something that was planned all along, but that’s still not sitting very well with fans of the show. The LA Times has an article about fan reaction to Mr. Eko’s death and people are not too happy about it.

The article goes on to talk about how the actor who plays Mr. Eko, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, views his character, and what he has planned for the future.
