Inside Bay Area – Get Lost: One polar bear away from solving TV’s biggest mystery

Throw out the theories that Walt is Psychic, that all the Lost characters are dead, and the “monster” isn’t a dinosaur, and you’re just left with more mysteries in LOST.

Susan Young has a great article on all the connections and unexplained mysteries of LOST that you should take a look at.

Season 2 recap and spoilers

The NY Post is running an article that briefly describes where LOST left things at the end of last season.

It also mentions two spoilers, so if you haven’t seen this yet, and don’t want to don’t read any further!

Mr. Eko (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) will have a flashback in episode five.

Libby (Cindy Watros) will return in a Hurley flashback.

Boone (Ian Somerhalder) will be back in some way, helping out Locke.

Theories About Unanswered Questions From Season 2 of LOST

Associated Press has got an article on some of questions we might get answers to this season on LOST.

They ask the following questions in the article, explain why they’re asking the question, but don’t really answer them… Here are my answers

WHO ARE THE OTHERS?

“The Others” are at least working under the premise that they’re part of the Dharma Initiative. From what we’ve seen so far, there’s nothing to lead us to believe that they’re not. I mean, why have all those labels on food out on an island where no one else can see them, right?

I think the better question here is What are The Others Doing. They seem obsessed with children. Why? What are they looking for? I think they’re looking to see if any of the children have immunities or some sort of genetic makeup that can help them with what they’re looking for.

Why all the disguises? Well, if you wanted to keep people out of the way so they wouldn’t come to your camp looking for food or shelter, what better way then making it look like you have no real means of your own?

WHO WILL KATE FALL FOR?

Between Jack and Sawyer? I think that’s easy. She’ll go Sawyer. Why? From the writer’s perspective, it’s a lot more interesting to write about those two than Kate and Jack.

Personally though, I don’t think it’ll be either of them. I think it’ll be someone new…. Yes, one of The Others.

WHY WAS LOCKE IN A WHEELCHAIR?

The AP story says that victims of Locke’s father handicapped Locke. I don’t buy that. It completely ignores the two thugs that were after Locke. Remember them? They were looking for the money too. Could they have been the ones that beat Locke so badly that he ended up in the chair? Yes, but I think that’s a bit obvious. Personally, I believe that Locke’s father had Locke beaten up because Locke just wouldn’t go away.

WHO IS THE FATHER OF SUN’S UNBORN BABY?

I think this one is a red herring. Jae Lee, whom everyone thinks could be the father because of his relationship with Sun, isn’t the father. Jin’s infertility was “fixed” by the island.

WHAT HAPPENED AT THE HATCH?

This the question of the summer. We know that they’ll all back, so we know they didn’t die. After Desmond turned the key, the massive release of magnetic energy reversed itself. Reversed itself? Sure — Think about it. If the magnetism intenstified, the hatch door would NOT have been high up in the air, and would not have fallen to the ground, nearly hitting Bernard, Claire and the baby. The key was supposed to destroy the hatch. How would you destroy that? By giving an opposite charge that’s stronger than the magnetic charge was to begin with.

Now, what this did to Locke, Eko and Desmond… That’s a really good question. The only think I think we know for sure is they’re going to have hearing problems for a while.

DID MICHAEL AND WALT ESCAPE?

The last time we saw Michael and Walt, they were headed out to sea on bearing 325, per Henry Gale’s instructions. I don’t think they’ll make it anywhere, and that Walt will end up being lost at sea. The actor that plays Walt is growing up fast… too fast for the show’s timeline. It’s only been 60 days or so since the crash, and it’s going on three years of real-time. If we do see Michael again, he’ll be going after The Others and Henry Gale for the circumstances that lead to Walt’s death.

WHAT IS DHARMA DOING WITH THE KIDS?

As I said previously, they’re looking for some genetic sequences. That means they’ll still be after the baby and after Sun once they discover she’s pregnant.

WHO IS LIBBY?

We don’t know for sure whether Libby was in the asylum when she saw Hurley before or after meeting Desmond. I’m guessing that it happened it happened before she met Desmond. So the timeline would be something like: Libby was married; her husband died in some way and it caused her to go into the mental institution; Hurley makes it out of the instiution, wins the lottery, and returns to find out what the numbers mean after bad things start happening — Libby sees Hurley.

Before she died, I swore up and down that she was working with Dharma, and I still believe that might be the case. I don’t have any evidence for this; it’s just a hunch.

IS CLAIRE JACK’S HALF-SISTER?

This one is simple. Yes. That’s who Christian Shephard (Jack’s father) was trying to go see when he went back to Australia.

CAN THE SHOW KEEP IT UP?

I sure hope so. The “Lost Experience” game over the summer was a pretty big let down; let’s hope that doesn’t creep into the show.

Lost – Hanso Foundation updated with statement from Alvar Hanso!

The Hanso Foundation website has been updated with a statement from Alvar Hanso. I’m including the statement below, just to be sure you see it (and in case it gets taken down)

Statement from Alvar Hanso

To all:

The path of secrecy is a slippery slope. While necessity may dictate, at times, that we shade
ourselves and our work from the all-too-often harsh light of inquiry, habitual secret-keeping
can mire even the noblest of intentions in shadow. It is this shadow I fell prey to, blinded not
only to the action of colleagues like Dr. Thomas Werner Mittelwerk, but also to the
works of my own hand.

I fear the lessons learned have cost many their happiness. Some few have even lost their lives.
My regret for this is endless. But, I assure you now, as I did then, that the work of The Hanso
Foundation has always been intended to bring rebirth to a dying land and a dying people.

Our methods must change. As of this moment, The Hanso Foundation enters a period of
restructure and overhal. Transparency and oversight will be our guiding principles,
excellence in communication and response to feedback our greatest strengths.
To save humanity, we need first tap into just that — our humanity.

Much time has passed — perhaps too much. Thanks to the tireless efforts of my daughter,
Rachel Blake, and a worldwide movement set against the dark entity that was Thomas
Mittlewerk’s regime, I have been exonerated and freed from imprisonment. Thanks to the
grace and foresight of the Global Welfare Consortium, we at The Hanso Foundation have
been given a second chance to build a future that can support, enrich and cradle us all in
peace and joy.

It is to this I dedicate my life and my Foundation. My only hope is that you will join me.

Namaste,

Alvar Hanso

Lost Experience Spoiler – Rachel’s identity revealed!

BIG Spoiler ahead! Don’t read this if you don’t want to know something big about Lost!

If you’ve been playing the Lost Experience over the web this past summer, you have probably already seen the really big Lost Spoiler from the HansoExposed website.

Tonight, about 10 minutes ago, the very last part of the tape was posted the front page of ABC.com. The first part was the spoiler mentioned earlier; the NEW part of the video was Rachel Blake going to Narvik, Norway to meet with someone…. Alvar Hanso! He knew what lead her there, and told her that in spite of the fact that she found out that the Hanso Foundation helped her mother with funds to raise Rachel, Rachel kept digging to find Alvar Hanso. Hanso himself told her that he’s her father! He’s being held hostage by Mittlewerk, and urged her to expose Mittlewerk’s plans.

Rachel Blake was on the DJ Dan podcast earlier tonight, and pointed people there. You have to listen to about an hour and a half of the podcast in order to get to the part where Rachel points you to ABC.com.

It should be on the ABC.com website for a while, so go check it out!

Update:

Another tidbit related to this…. as DJ Dan talked to Rachel Blake, and was just getting her to talk about “what happened in Norway”, one of the producers of his show cut in with a phone call from someone named “James” who said he hacked into an audio link. The audio was of some sort of military operation that was designed to capture Mittlewerk. When the agents got there, they found that it was a trap. Mittlewerk’s voice was played telling them to get out, and then there was a large explosion. This was right before Rachel said to go to ABC.com

SPOILER – Back from the dead on ABC’s ‘Lost’

SPOILER AHEAD – Don’t read this if you don’t want to know…

Still here?

OK, on the October 11th episode, Ian Somerhalder will guest star as Boone, the young man that got killed when the plane fell out of the tree. Since the Lost producers have stated that once a character is dead, they’re dead, it’s a pretty good bet that you’ll see him in a flashback.

Rumor has it that Michelle Rodriguez (Ana Lucia) and Cynthia Watros (Libby) may be back to guest star as well.

HansoExposed Video – REALLY BIG SPOILER

This is a HUGE spoiler for what’s happening on LOST, so don’t click the video unless you’re certain you want to know what’s going on with the DHARMA initiative.

This video is was pieced together from the results of the LOST game that was played over the summer via Hanso Exposed, and other websites.

LOST SPOILER: Scene from Season 3!

Tonight on ABC, they ran a promotion for the dramas on ABC, which of course includes LOST.

If you don’t want to know anything about Season 3, skip this posting, because it contains info on a scene from Season 3!

Still here? In the scene, Sawyer is in a cage in some sort of compound with other cages. There are a couple of red levers in parts of the cage, and a machine a large red button with a white knife and fork. The machine has a slot that appears to dispense food and a pipe that appears to be able to dispense water. Sawyer checks out each of the levers, stamping on one, and moving the other, but neither do anything.

He goes back to the red button and presses it. A speaker says “Warning”, and nothing else happens. He presses it again, and again the speaker says “Warning”. A person in another cage, who Sawyer calls “Carl”, warns Sawyer not to touch the button again.

In typical Sawyer fashion, he presses the button again anyway, and is either blown back by a burst of air or thrown clear by a jolt of electricity and slams into the bars on the far side of the cage. He swears about this, and the scene ends.

More Disc 7 Easter Eggs

As you’ve noticed, I’m kind of doing these backwards (Bonus disc first, now disc 7), I’ll be posting all of these Easter Eggs on their own page.

Select Phase 1, on the new screen, at “Fire + Water”, press “left” twice, and the dot will turn blue and move to “Anatomy of an Episode”. Select that, and you’ll watch Dominic (Charlie) tell the snowman joke.

Select Phase 2, go to “Sneak Peeks”, press “left” twice, and the dot will go to the right of “Return”. Press “OK”, and you’ll see the video of “On the Beach with Evi”, Evangeline Lilly talks about preparing for LOST, how she spent her hiatus, what she thinks of her character Kate. why she thinks LOST is a hit, and what she wants to be doing 10 years from now.

Select Phase 3, go to “Secrets from the Hatch”, press “left” twice, and the dot will go to the right of the word “Hatch”. Press “OK”, and you’ll see a mural from the inside of the hatch, with a man standing in front of it. The only thing I’ve been able to do so far is select “OK”, which returns to the Phase 3 menu.
