Season 8 – 24 – 1 pm to 2 pm

Previously on “24”, we learned: If someone comes in to take over a job and has an assistant, they are probably up to no good; Jack really hates department store mannequins; If you’re an ex-president, don’t ask to take credit for something if you’re not 100% sure everything is going to plan; Don’t ever swallow a SIM card if you’re near Jack Bauer; If you call terrorists on the phone and get a call back, you better have your voice mail answering message recorded in a disguised voice, because if it’s Jack Bauer calling you back, you’re going to be in big, big trouble.

The following takes place between 1 pm to 2 pm:

1:00 pm – Ex-President Logan puts on a red polka dot tie, which he still had from the days when he performed as a clown. He watches a fake news conference, which is taking place to let the world know that he’s helping out with the mid-east peace process. An assistant comes in to tell him that his car is in the heliport, which would be great if he drove a flying Jetsons’ car, but he doesn’t. She informs him President Suvrarov is arriving in 20 or 30 minutes, and that if he orders Domino’s right now, she’s pretty sure the pizza will be there before the Russian president. She leaves.

President Logan receives a phone call from Jason. Jason informs Logan that Jack has been playing Operation again and Pavel is dead. Jason also tells him that it’s likely that Jack has given information to the press, so the whole story is going to come out.

President Logan is so deep in denial that he can almost read the hieroglyphics at the bottom. He tells Jason that he might be able to solve this Bauer problem with “management”, which as we all know won’t do anything.

Jason informs Logan that Jack appears to have reverted to his “Lost Boys” days, because from the condition they found Pavel in… well, Jack’s out for blood. And not in a sparkly vampire, or stupid, Sunnydale vampire kinda way… he’s out for revenge for what happened today. Logan tells Jason to find Jack, and to keep him posted. Jason tells him he doesn’t think the US mail system will take a man of his size, but he’d be willing to try after they finish off Jack.

LOST – My Theories of The End

Well, just 3.5 hours to left, and then LOST is done.

I thought now would be a good time to put down some theories about how things are going to end. Here are a few guesses, and my percentages for how true I think they are.

Kate, Richard and Sawyer are going to die. 90% probability

Widmore wants to get Desmond to retrieve the source of the power of the island, which only he can do, since he’s magnetism-proof and would be able to withstand the forces that ripped The Man in Black apart. Widmore thinks he has a way of containing it, but is going to end up with the same fate as the Man in Black. – 90 % probability

Someone (probably Hurley) is going to throw Jacob’s ashes into the smoke monster, killing it. Note that when I say “Jacob’s ashes”, I mean the ashes of Jacob’s body that Illana collected from the pit where Jacob’s body burned. These are the same ashes that Hurley found amongst Illana belongings, after she blew up. – 70% probability

Ben will volunteer to be the new guardian of The Island, instead of Jack taking over. 60% probability

Jack will leave the island using the wheel that Ben did to get off the island. – 50% probability

Jack’s going to end up being transported back in time, and will end up being Ray Shepard, his own “grandfather”. – 30% probability. (I’ve always liked this theory).

LOST – Across The Sea


Spoilers ahead!

Just finished watching “Across the Sea”, and it was a good one. Here are my observations on tonight’s show:

Question answered: It was confirmed that Jacob and the Man in Black are brothers, as I early suspected.

It was left up in the air is how The Woman made it so they couldn’t kill each other. I think that’ll end up being one of the unanswered mysteries.

They were on the island about 43 years before Jacob hurt his brother and threw him down the Life Well (I’m gonna call it that, for lack of a better term).

Question answered: We got to see the origin of The Wheel.

I’m a little torn about this one: Can the Man in Black leave the island by turning the wheel now? Or is that something he could only do while he was alive?

Question answered: The skeletons Jack and Kate found were of The Woman and The Man in Black, not Adam and Eve or any of the LOST 815ers.

Question answered: We know the “inside joke” of the black and white stones.

How long after these events did it take for The Man in Black to appear to Jacob. How freaked out must Jacob have been at THAT happening?

A couple of theories:

It appears to me that what happened to the Man in Black was that all his inner “goodness” was absorbed by the Light Well, and all his “badness” was released. Not a good thing. I suspect Widmore is going to end up this way, because he doesn’t understand the true nature of what that Light Well can really do.

It really seems that Widmore (and the rest) aren’t really looking for magnetism. That’s just a byproduct of finding what they’re REALLY looking for, the source to the Life Well. That’s what they really need Desmond for… to be able to take whatever is the real source of that extreme magnetism and get it off the island. Desmond’s (probably) the only person that can get close enough to it, and not die.

Season 8 – 24 – 12 pm to 1 pm


Previously on “24”, we learned that: Jack will shoot people even before they get done with the reasons Jack won’t shoot them; Never volunteer to make sure Jack doesn’t get in a building – you will be shot… probably multiple times; You should always ask for the non-explosive safety deposit box; If you ask Jack Bauer what you can do to help, and he says “Nothing”, you’re about to be shot.

The following takes place between 12 pm and 1 pm:

12:00 pm – Cole is escorted to Dana’s body by one of the Village people, where he identifies it.

Meanwhile in a cab, Jack plays the copy of Dana’s Funniest Home Videos where he gets to see Dana’s Russian contact, who is about as fun as Renee’s Russian contacts, except with more fingers.

Jack calls his paranoid friend with all the electronic equipment, and tells him he’s coming in “hot”. His friend freaks out until Jack reassures him he’s not about to crash a fighter jet into him. Jack does however want the Russian in the video identified.

12:05 pm – Jason tells everyone at CTU that Dana is dead, and they all resist the urge to start applauding. Jason wants two things: First, they have to find Jack Bauer, who is suspected of killing Dana. Second, everyone has to take some extra time to see if they can figure out what smells like a body hidden behind some wood paneling – the smell is becoming unbearable. Cole is also coming in to CTU, mainly to assist in figuring out where Jack is and to make some faces.

Jason won’t listen to Chloe’s suggestion that perhaps Jack really is on to something with the Russian connection. He completely ignores this because he knows about it already, and doesn’t want anyone at CTU to figure this connection out.

Brothers Dan and Jordan Win The Amazing Race


Brothers Dan and Jordan have raced throughout the world to win the Amazing Race.

On last night’s show the teams went from China to San Francisco. Dan and Jordan made a completely unnecessary move early on when they cut in line in front of the two brothers, Jet and Cord. All that did was make them look petty, when they were all getting on the same flight anyway.

Dan and Jordan’s first great move was to get moved up to first class. That got them off the plane quickly and gave them a head start.

The first stop was found pretty quickly by two teams. Brent and Caite had driver that didn’t know where to go, so they fell behind.

After the first stop to get a clue to the Coit Tower, they had to climb the tower on a rope to get the next clue. None of the teams had a problem with that. They then headed to the Lucasfilm campus to go into a virtual reality game. Dan and Jordan had a big head start, but Jet and Cord made up a lot of time. Dan and Jordan finished first, despite Cord trying to throw them off (a bit of revenge for the cut in line at the airport… again, not a classy move).

This is where I think Jet and Cord screwed up, and ended up losing the race. Jet didn’t tell Cord that he saw the other team spinning around to get the clue. That should have been the first thing they did. By the time they realized this, Dan and Jordan had a big lead. It was at this point that Brent and Caite caught up with the brothers, and even left at the same time. Brent and Caite forgot their belongings, had to go back, and never made up the time.

The teams then headed to the Tonga, to pick up a chest. They carried this to a music hall where they opened the box. The teams then had to take the signs in the box and arrange them in the order in which the teams pictured on the signs were eliminated. They also had to place the non-elimination rounds correctly.

Dan and Jordan’s second great move was to have kept a list of who got eliminated during the race. They breezed through this. At this point, all Dan and Jordan had to do was find a taxi and head for the finish line, which they did. Congrats to both of them!

Jet and Cord came in second, and Brent and Caite came in last.

At the end, something happened that I don’t ever remember seeing. One of the members of a team that had been eliminated, Brandy Snow, started smack-talking Caite about how they made a stupid move by U-Turning Brandy and Carole. Brandy and Carole made fun of Caite early on in the game, which I think was a big mistake.

After all, Caite did end up beating them, no matter what anyone said to the contrary. Sour grapes, Brandy! You lost, and you got beat by the person you made fun of. That was great to see.

In spite of that move at the airport, Dan and Jordan ran a great race. Congratulations to them!

LOST – Widmore and Man in Black – Working Together?

Something’s been bothering me…

How did UnLocke know to take that watch from the dead body BEFORE he found the explosives on the plane?

Did he already know the explosives would be there?

There are a few possibilities:

1) It was a writing error in the show.
2) UnLocke spied on the plane, and knew they were planting explosives.
3) Widmore planted the explosives for UnLocke to pick up.

It’s always bothered me that Widmore was exiled from the Island by Ben. I had heard a backstory (somewhere…can’t remember where), that this was because he was taking unauthorized trips off the island. I don’t think that’s actually been said in the show (correct me if I’m wrong).

I’m guessing that the real reason Widmore was exiled is that he was talking or doing something with the Man in Black. That relationship might still be intact.

Why doesn’t Widmore kill them? Might be against the rules.

Hard to tell at this point, but I have a hard time believing the Widmore came back to the island personally to make sure UnLocke doesn’t leave.
